Living Green is Maldron Hotels & Partners environmental movement which inspires care for our environment as a “Way of Life” throughout our hotels; both for our people and our guests.

Here at Maldron Hotel Newlands Cross, we understand the necessity of coming together to become an eco-friendlier hotel. To do this we are constantly looking at processes and practices to reduce any harmful impacts we are having on the environment. We have our very own in-house Environmental Impact Team that have fully completed their online general waste training and we have colour coded recycling centres in each department.

Each and every environmental step we take over the coming months and years will become more visible each time you stay with us. We will also be updating you on our progress through our in-house environmental team.

Some of the top initiatives that we are working on are:

• introducing a default welcome page on all televisions in the hotel, which will promote green initiative and encourage our guests to think green;
• increasing the frequency of environmental walks to twice daily, introducing a walk during the day time as well as nights;
• identifying areas of reducing costs and consumptions during day time hours;
• installing Hippo bags in the cisterns in every bathroom which reduces the number of litres held and reduces the amount of water used, and possibly looking at recycling glass bottles from the bar filled with sand that could have the same effect.
